Heavy rings add weight to the bit to increase feel for your horse. The locking hinge makes this mouthpiece the ultimate in low leverage. The lock keeps the bar's straight applying less pressure than a normal snaffle. Excellent for starting a young colt that needs to be tugged around without hurting his mouth.

This bit was designed to decrease the discomfort at the corners of the horse's mouth. This bit will not pinch. The extra 3" rings at each end of the mouthpiece float independently to disperse the pressure across the lip and cheek making the horse more responsive to the riders cues. Attach the rein to the floating "D" ring outside the cheek rings. The mouthpiece is large enough to allow the rider to tug on a horse without injuring the bars.

W.P. Two Pounder, Stainless Steel Rings - 3/8" Smooth Sweet Iron Snaffle

Designed to help lower the headset on a horse.  Bridle should be adjusted where the horse has to pick up the snaffle with his tongue and pack the mouthpiece.  Weight of the rings is carried by the headstall, applying poll pressure.  Weight of the rings also gives a solid cue when rein pressure is applied.  Bit can also self school horse that slings or throws his head.  Ride with a curb strap and adjust to allow ring movement you desire.

This double twisted mouth looks severe but actually carries very easy until the horse puts his nose out too far. The mouth will then rotate and apply pressure on one twisted bar and the ring applies slight tongue pressure to help break the horse over at the pole.
